EducationPlus Salutes Educators Participating in Discovery Education’s Summer Institute

Later this summer, a group of educators served by EducationPlus will join more than 100 of their colleagues from around the world for the 2018 DEN Summer Institute (DENSI), an immersive, week-long professional development experience. A global community of education professionals supported by Discovery Education, the Discovery Educator Network(DEN) connects members across school systems and around the world through social media, virtual conferences, and in-person events, fostering valuable networking, idea sharing, and inspiration. The six-day professional learning experience is July 15-20 at University of North Carolina, Wilmington.

The educators served by Education Plus scheduled to participate in this special event include:  

Cynthia Garrety and Betty Harter from the Hickman Mills C-1 School District,

Stephanie Guilano from the Mehlville School District,

Rob Lamb from the Pattonville School District,

Susie Nettleton, Sydnee Owens, Deb Sager, William Lindsey from the Tolbert Charter District,

Shelby Graves from Warren County R3, and

Quentin Alimayu from the Ladue School District.

In addition, a number of educators in districts supported by EducationPlus will also participate in the upcoming STEMersion event Discovery Education is holding June 26-30, also at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.  The more than 50 participants in this event will participate in variety of experiences that will add valuable new resources and skills to their STEM/STEAM toolkit.  Among the educators scheduled to participate in STEMersion 2018 are:

Madison Twenter and Kate Schlarman from the Hickman Mills C-1 School District,

Sarah Emanuel, Tosha DeBold, and Eric Theby from the Mehlville School District, and  

Matt Strayhorn from the Ladue School District.

EducationPlus is very proud of the educators selected to participate in DENSI 2018 and STEMersion, and we are inspired by their commitment to using the latest technologies and digital content to help all students reach their highest potential.  We look forward to these educators returning to their classrooms with new strategies for using technology to support the success of all learners.
