The CharacterPlus team and local school leaders spent last week at the character.org National Forum on Character Education in Washington, D.C. Thought leaders from around the world were able to come together with a shared vision of transforming education outcomes around character. Participants shared best practices and addressed issues such as teacher, student and community engagement. It was a great opportunity to network, share practices and solve issues arising in education with educators around the globe.

The C+ team was proud to have so many amazing educators from the CharacterPlus Member schools present at this important event as they represented the amazing character work that is taking place here in the St. Louis Region. Our local National Schools of Character were honored at the forum. More than 20% of the National Schools of Character this year are CharacterPlus members. On Thursday evening, CharacterPlus hosted a reception for our CharacterPlus winning schools from Missouri and Illinois. It was a great opportunity for us to thank our schools for the high impact they have on the students, staff and communities.

Congratulations to our local National Schools of Character! Look for some upcoming opportunities to learn best practices from this amazing group of transformational schools of excellence! More information will be coming soon.

CharacterPlus encourages all of our member schools to consider applying for the 2017 State School of Character Recognition. It is a revealing self-audit process that helps you examine your current culture practices in a whole new light. We are here to help if you are interested!
