Improving Student Learning through Professional Development

Teachers Academy provides an intellectually stimulating and nurturing environment for both personal and professional growth through collaboration and action research. Academy Fellows are involved in a year-long commitment to the program, and meet monthly for full day session, during which they acquire and expand their knowledge of the pedagogical skills necessary to meet the needs of today's classrooms. Topics include (but are not limited to):

    • Student Engagement
    • Differentiation
    • Assessment
    • Cultural Proficiency
    • Teacher Leadership

An essential part of the academy experience is the collaboration and sharing that takes place during our sessions, and academy fellows are expected to implement their new learning and share their experiences. Optional graduate credit is available.

    Teachers Academy Graduates

Teachers Academy Graduates continues the academy experience by offering the opportunity to continue your growth in a select area of study. TAG fellow will form small groups around special interest areas of study, to be led by graduates of the cohort program. The Teachers Academy Graduates experience will follow a similar academy structure: our monthly meetings will include graduates study group sessions and RPDC workshops. Ongoing support will be provided to all academy members through our online community, which will connect members from all academy levels. Optional graduate credit is available.

TAG fellows will form small groups around these special interest areas of study and they will meet monthly with their teacher leaders as part of their cohort experience. Teacher leaders will also be given free attendance to select RPDC workshops. There is no cost to participate in the Teacher Leadership Group. Optional graduate credit is available.
